Greenville, SC – March 14, 2012– At the 2011 Printing Industry of the Carolinas Awards banquet held on March 3, 2012, INDEXX received 21 PICA Awards – 6 Best of Category Awards, 7 Special Judges Awards, and 8 Awards of Excellence – making it the Upstate’s most-honored printer. The competition, open to all printers in the Carolinas, allows businesses to showcase exceptional work, both in terms of print quality and unique printing techniques. Since 1966, the PICA Awards have been the premier symbol of excellence for the graphics industry in NC and SC. A company’s participation is widely viewed as indicative of its commitment to superior graphic communications.
The PICA Awards program also ranks as one of the largest printing competitions in the nation. This year, it attracted some 997 entries from 65 printing companies and 18 graphic arts high schools and college graphic arts programs. A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production examined the submissions, and each entry was evaluated on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. Judging criteria included registration, clarity, sharpness, richness of color, paper and ink selection, finishing, difficulty of printing, and overall visual impact.
“As a communications company, INDEXX takes great pride in the recognition we’ve received for excellence in design and production,” said Jordan Finn, INDEXX owner and president. “Printing is a primary component of the services we provide, and it’s incredibly gratifying to be awarded for the quality of our work. We value collaborating with customers to create printed materials that promote them to their best advantage, and any award that honors us is also a tribute to them. “
